Myself & a lot of my cohorts have had this app in beta for quite some time, and even in beta was was leagues ahead of any other Twitter client. It’s so important to me that I don’t think I would use Twitter anywhere near the same amount as I do now without a client this strong.

There’s a nice interview with the developer/designer on iMore explaining their process and generally what’s going on.

The app is causing a little controversy because it’s the first major client since the API changes by Twitter recently. And it’s $20/€15. As Gruber said, it’s worth it for a quality app. “Screw the race to the bottom.”

Of course clients like this at this price is not something users are used to, especially with Twitters awful first party offerings being free. That said, a €15 app puts Twitter in the same league as App.net for users. You’re basically paying admission price to use the service in the way you want. And for a platform like Twitter that is trying to force ads into a revenue model, that’s not good.
