We will continue to make available our existing products, and we will provide support and critical updates to our users. However, as we’ll be busy with new projects at Google, we do not plan to release new features for the Sparrow apps.
It’s been an honor and a pleasure to build products for all of our wonderful users who have supported us over the years. We can’t thank you enough. We look forward to working on some new and exciting projects at Google!
This is all very reasonable, and I wish the Sparrow team all the best. The OS X client is very solid and does everything I need it to do, but to say that no new features can ever come in future is a bit annoying. Surely the best solution is to pass the project on to someone else, or open source it?
This stinks very much of mistreatment of customers, unnecessarily. There are ways to keep Sparrow going while working on Google projects…
