I’m sure most of you are aware at this stage that updates to a huge pile of apps have come out alongside the release of iOS 6 and OSX 10.8.2.
I’ve been using iOS6 on my iPhone 4S for months now and it’s been rock solid. I’ve found great new features in there that are genuinely useful, even the much lauded Maps app, which despite not having a lot of the features of Google maps, as a starting point it’s leaps beyond what I’ve used on satnavs before, especially in Ireland.
The biggest improvement, in my eyes, is the animation for switching desktops in 10.8.2, which is now much faster, smoother and feels a lot lighter. Before it felt sluggish, and the animation had to complete before an app in a different desktop was usable. This is now a much nicer experience and makes the desktops feature (something I heavily use) much more reliable. The speed and animation is now less akin to switching pages on iOS and more like something an OSX power user might want.
