Marco Arment did a great job breaking down how utterly ridiculous some of these Twitter changes are.
Twitter are, it appears, trying to be an Apple of short messages online. They want to control their eco system. Which is fine, but the way they’re doing it is very much going against the ethos the system had whilst in a growth period, and definitely goes against anything the community might want.
As I said before, this is a huge opportunity for app.net or similar.
