I received an email from someone whom I assume is behind the ‘Stop Irish SOPA’ campaign this evening with some information for anyone looking to support the cause.
There’s a protest against ‘SOPA Ireland’ planned for this Saturday, February 4th. More details here… There’s also a Facebook event with 3,416 people listed as going.
You can find photos of last Saturday’s protest via whyweprotest.net.
Over 79,824 people have signed the petition at stopSOPAireland.com. This is an incredible achievement considering the group thought they might, at most, receive around 15,000 signatures in total.
A briefing document may be found here.
Edit: The person who emailed me got back in touch to say he is not involved with the campaign directly, but just doing his part to help. The community spirit behind this campaign astounds me.
