project deathstar originally started out as an urban culture collaborative blog between myself and some friends. After a fruitful launch the blog stopped progressing and we stopped posting. It quickly became a tumblr of sorts with just posts of videos and sharing interesting content we had found online.
It was only a matter of time before it died off. It wasn’t for months until, in a flash of boredom, I went ahead and made a simple theme for the blog and pushed it out onto the site to take advantage of the rather cool domain name.
The blog now resides as my place to vent and discuss all things technology, freeing up my “personal” blog for things of a more personal matter.
What to expect
You’ll all of the latest bits & pieces of news about Apple, startups and the technology world in general. I’ve some insight into this world with past experience, work and incessant book/blog/article reading. I hope to share some insight and hope to inform you of the goings on in the industry. I’ll never post things that don’t interest me.
Of course I also try to write more about things I like. This often means non-technical items, but when it gets really technical, it can get opinionated. Moreover, with my computer science hat on, I can hopefully go into deep detail about items of a very technical nature. Maybe I should have been a lecturer
I previously worked as an Apple service provider manager where I built a team (and business model) up from zero to being wildly successful, before moving on to be a developer (my natural calling, if college is to be believed). I now work for a US-based startup in Dublin (where I was born & bred) who are expanding fast and building a product to be proud of. We really do want to change the world.
I’ve been blogging for years. Far before blogging was blogging. So hopefully my writing style feels natural. I tend to write off-the-cuff without much preparation or intent. I shoot from the hip, basically.
I’m a huge FC Bayern Munich fan. I’m a huge Ferrari F1 fan. Beyond that, I’m not too keen on specific teams in sports.
I read a lot, both in terms of online articles & blog posts, as well as books. I find reading fact-based books by heroes the easiest type of read. I do enjoy sci-fi when it comes to fiction, but it is remarkably difficult to find good sci-fi fiction sadly.
